Let It Snow!

We have gotten so much more snow than usual this year. Most people I know are hating it, but I personally love it. I love winter, which is surprising since I don't participate in any outdoor winter sports or activities (I grew up skiing every winter, but never liked it, and stopped as soon as I was old enough to win the battle of being dragged up to the mountain on weekends with my dad.) I think the snow is amazingly beautiful and I love being cozy inside while it's freezing outside. Such a neat feeling.

But, as usual, I'm the oddball. Most people are anxiously awaiting summer. Me? I could do without it. It's way too bright and hot.

Maybe I was an eskimo in a former life.

Along with the tons of snow we've had has come the removal of that snow off of sidewalks and driveways. Josh has reached an age where he is able to help effectively with that. So he and Joel will set out and shovel/snow blow our driveway and then go help other neighbors who may need help with theirs as well. (Another side note: it's been a fantastic opportunity for Josh to serve other people alongside his dad).

Last Sunday was one of those super snowy days, and Josh and Joel were out clearing people's driveways. On their way home, I took this picture of Josh standing on a snowbank on the other side of our six-foot high fence. I can't remember a time when the snow has been piled up THAT high! Pretty cool!
